Zippers!
Zippers!
The little metal nubs are known commonly as teeth.
That probably explains why they bite us all "beneath."
I came of age with the zipper, it's always been around
and unlike the bra's "hook and eye", it never did confound.
It has become so ingrained in our society
that we don't recognize its effect on piety.
The zipper gave us time to invent the "quickie."
Without it, we'd have to stop at the random hickey.
The word itself has evolved to a synonym for fast.
We zip through our days from the first to last.
As a word, it has many uses, which I think is fine.
How else could you describe the looks of Frankenstein?
All the humor set aside, it was my first intention
to praise this simple miracle as a top invention.
For all those who've ever had "an emergency"
they know the wonder of the zipper...
just unzip and pee!
