Hunter Green

Hunter Green

My favorite color’s Hunter Green.
Not light, not dark, but in between
the color of a young sapling
and hidden waters in a spring.

There’s something calming in its shade
that I don’t get from moss or jade.
It seems to soothe my tired eyes
and calms my worries that arise.

I find that other colors pale
when I place them on a scale
that measures how they make me feel.
Imagined? Or perhaps it’s real?

From juniper to darkest pine
I think the shades of green are fine
but none affect me, I have seen
like soothing, calming Hunter Green.
