Dinggedicht: "The Lord's Day"
Flying music from the keys,
Ebony is shined.
Box and legs of gleaming black.
Strings so taut and fine.

Stain-ed glass by metal fixed,
Dances in the light.
Images of ancient days,
Glows so very bright.

Leather binding holds great words,
Onion skin the page.
"BIBLE" stamped, embossed in gold,
laid on table stage.

Wooden benches lacquered fine.
Cushions plush and soft.
L-brackets flush on the foot.
Screws keep bench aloft.

Bread ensconced upon the plate.
Wine's bouquet in glass.
Silver trays so still, at ease.
Faithful to the last.

Littered tissues on the floor.
Bulletins on bench.
Tic Tacs, Chiclets lie in state
Pulpit holds a wrench.

Brick the steps outside the door.
Steel bar railings stand.
Asphalt pathway marked with lines,
Metal, rubber bands.
