The Famous World in His Mind

One Polly plumbs the depths of pools in Woods Between the Worlds,
And Digory learns that magic has true rings for boys and girls.
One ring can mar creation brought to life by lion's song,
While cabby and his horse, they start so weak and end so strong.

When coats are needed snow is found inside wardrobe instead,
There fawning introductions lead to icy stares of lead.
A lion's mane's attached to regal neck and throaty growl
Defeat's the witch's words more stern than that of Simon Cowell.

As regal, Bree, and consort, Whin, start telling tale anon,
A waif of boy and stationed girl are taught to mount upon
The back of leading animals, who know the truest way
To help beleaguered monarchs and then fully save the day.

The raining king through many tears has come to earn his reign.
Four kings and queens of old have come to help the land, again.
The combat 'tween the youth and ancient ends in treachery,
But ROAR awakens river, trees and rights the mockery.

Sir Valiant Mouse wields blade to teach the frothing, bratty oaf,
Before his dragon heart becomes the fire-breathing loaf.
To "see ourselves as others see us" changes all today
Into a mouse that travels home as once-brat tears display.

A charming queen enslaves a prince with serpent wiles so green,
While kingdom searches for this prince, who nevermore is seen.
The gale of lion's breath begins the tale of chair beneath.
The girl and boy restore his mind by wisdom's true bequeath.

Rude shiftless monkey plays his ruse to leadership amass
As stupid donkey puzzles how to do the right, Alas.
While sovereigns through the years find hope in little stable's stall,
The Joy of everyone is found obeying lion's call!

My name you know if read at all my novels from the shelf.
This softball with your solid bat must make a name for self.
