The Heart Wants
The heart is such a fickle child,
demands its way or pouts awhile.
To have control o'er all these whims
requires more effort than in gyms.
O, what to do?
My heart just wants to eat its fill,
each joyous taste our tongue to thrill.
A steak is nice and ice cream, too,
with choc'late on the top for you,
but what a waist!
My heart it wants to spend and spend,
buy books and art my Joy to tend.
A movie ticket for a night,
escape from all that is not right,
but afterwards?
The trick is changing wants of heart
to helpful things right from the start,
And then my wants will be the best
with victory o'er daily test,
and lasting Joy!
