A Journal to impart knowledge and facts |
Talk Tuesday! In 's entry yesterday ("Jan 8th Writing" ), her use of the term "writing kit" had me intrigued. Do you have a physical set of tools you rely on (certain pens/pencils, notebooks, etc.)? Different websites you rely on for particulars? Maybe even mood-setting accouterments like music or candles? What's your scene? It really depends on what I'm writing. I use the Journal 7 when I am off line. Then, post on WDC from the Journal. If I'm writing long hand I have a group of notebooks that I keep handy, where I keep longhand notes on anything and everything. I like fine point pens. I really don't like to use any other kind of pen if I can help it. And, I have my window on the world. My desk and computer are arranged beside a window that looks out on my back yard. Right now it's a real wilderness out there. The bird feeders are covered with all kinds of birds. I have two huge black crows that visit everyday ( they like the wasted parrot food that is thrown out daily) plus, bluejays, cardinals, doves, field sparrows, titmouse, chickadees, rabbits, red squirrels, once in a while a deer will wander through, but that is mostly early, early morning or evening at dusk and later. Snow is heaped up by the plow. Yesterday another 6 inches came down so the plowing is kind of obscured today. Websites are of course Wikipedia. They can also be any where on the web that has relevant information that pertains to subjects. I like to visit science websites because there is always something new in the world of science. Youtube is usually my place for music or my Amazon music player. I prefer to read and write in silence. Then, play music to clean house. The snow is melting slowly but, there may be rain then we will probably have to deal with ice because of the amount of snow out there. Keep Warm |
