A Lady of a Noble is attracted to an eighteenth century gardener. What happens?

The lady Catherine Linton was attracted to the family gardener named Nigel. Her father caught them in an embrace kissing and he was angry and at the next Ball, chose a man for her to marry.

Nigel walked into the Ball with the Duke Henry Elsworth. Erica's father was confused. Nigel was the son of the Duke and didn't want to take over the tea business, so he decided to be a gardener but after falling in love with Catherine, he told his father he would take over the tea business. So, Nigel and Catherine were married.

I know this would be a nice short story or novella and maybe I will write it someday.
