The Unlost Wanderer

Movement
through the forest of matter
is an adventure in itself,
with the soul wandering
along hidden paths
looking
for the eternal beloved.

Sometimes a temple
or an ancient alter is found,
suggesting that,
at sometime in the past,
another wanderer has been this way
and found a trace of the beloved.

The wanderer pauses,
intone a prayer,
and then moves on
seeking the countenance
of the beloved.
