Hudibrastic Verse: "Those, Who Think They Know Things"

They march to battle for the Truth,
So many have up from their youth.

The start of life declared with force
That true may be the human course.

With facts and figures all is known
By aged sage and bent old crone.

With hubris words and silent faith-ings
Boast the ones, who think they know things!

The scientist and solemn preacher
Shake the fist and act as teacher!

For each alone has lasting knowledge
Stamped by his old ivy college!

In Science truth is radioactive.
But Holy faith is preached objective.

"How dare you speak against my Light?"
They each t'ward other lunge to bite.

Yet, neither has a rock to stand
Upon that lasts in chosen land.

The origins of all that is...
...Is mystery to each, who lives.

"My God has said and I'm believing."
"The tests are blind. The truth receiving."

So both are sure they really know things
About how life became,...beginnings.

The Scientific Method says that,
"We must observe or else repeat it!"

I know of none so old to tell me
That truth of what they saw could sell me.

For who among all men could make
A life begin, a stand to take?

If none could by their science show,
Then none of them profess to know.

For faith in science is a god
As much as ones of faith applaud.

O, why assert some hidden knowledge,
When simpler folks know more than college?

I think because today's religion
Is Science in its faux precision.

For each has faith they're "just believing."
Untested premise, quick receiving.

The proof of all, who say they know things
Is one UNPROVEN down below things.
