Patterns of Sight and Sound
How boxy, red and black the plaid-------------------------------------iambic
that weaves the workman's shirt!
The scent of pine throughout, we're glad
his pay is full of dirt!

O, how bouncy the dot in the polka they play!----------------------anapest
Full of yellows and reds and the greens and the blues
Oompa tubas and trumpets and trombones display
German sounds mixed with clarinet reeds for the cues.

Marvelous ampersand makes the wallpaper grand!---------------dactyl
Where would you find such unique little patterns shown?
Look in the Barnes & the Nobles for things they plan!
Colors and feelings splash through ev'ry mind that's blown!

Stars, stripes, lines, hopes-----------------------------------------------spondee
Red, white, blue flags
Heart t'ward sky gropes
Stand straight! None brags.

Interlocking boxes' colors-------------------------------------------------trochee
changing hues from hot to frozen
Wondrous sight for artist fellars,
Fam'ly, friends and even cousin!

Many are the types and patterns
Of the poems we could write.
Imag'ry doth greatly matter
For to make the readers bite.

My Friend, I wish you good success
to write your forms consistently!
For if you gaff, result won't bless
and, actually, people will be pretty flummoxed as to where you were going with that one! *BigSmile*
