Thoughts and takes on the way life presents.... |
I kicked off my vacation to the Grand Canyon by stopping off at the EconoLodge. Avoid this hotel chain. The one in Jackson, MN is a testament to high priced slum hotels. We specifically asked for a handicapped accessible room, not a fake handicap accessible room. If you are a hotel chain, it is not a handicap room if you cannot get the chair in through the door, and no bench seat in the tub. Handrails and no locks does not a precious bathroom experience make for the handicapped. And if you own a hotel, make sure the toilet actually works. The one we had ran all night. If you want to avoid a trip to the hospital, make sure you sniff the eggs at the EconoLodge. The ones at our hotel had been there for a very long time because they had already turned yellow. I was kind and did leave a note for the next unsuspecting person. The only decent thing about this chain was they had soft pillows. Big whoop. Then to top it off, I found out they charged me $30 more than the amount quoted on the phone. When I asked for an adjustment, I was told no. I have a big mouth. If I have my way, no more people will get burned at this chain. That's all. Sign me one more disgruntled EconoLodge victim. |
