on my cell’s screen
private number
its ring passes through me
a mere energy
through matter,
like a wave, and
I answer to ask who

it is me he wants
but that ‘me’ is
the wrong person
drifting, sinking
into his right number
“She isn’t here
and she isn’t the one
for she is gone.”

then I click the red
and choose to forget
