"The Road I've Taken" (An Homage to Robert Frost)

The road of life has been forged of these
For where I step upon ev'ry way
Is made my own as sad or to please.
To work each day is good,...on the lees
Will question all of the good display.

The road I take is an upward lane
With choices that are sure to be new.
Each striving forward and ev'ry gain
Improves my life and soul, it is plain
In growth of heart each breath 'til they're through.

The road I've taken is filled with holes,
Missteps and other quite irksome wrecks,
But "failing forward" led to my goals.
Surmounting ills has lit others' coals
To urge them through their own daily treks.
