Civilization's Wings
Civilization's Wings:
To the Blessed Beauty
"Religion and science are inter-twined and cannot be separated. These are the two wings with which humanity must fly. One wing is not enough. Every religion which does not concern itself with Science is mere tradition, and that is not the essential. Therefore, science, education and civilization are most important and necessities for the full religious lie."
Baha'i Writings
I meditate
on the Blessed Beauty,
and contemplate His revelation.
The principle of oneness
permeates every aspect of reality.
I consider
the numerous ways
science and religion
interconnect.
The soul,
an intelligent entity,
can investigate reality.
Civilization
is a broken winged bird
attempting to fly with one wing.
Vahid - means unity; it is composed of 1 or more stanzas with each stanza containing a total of 19 syllables, but without a specific stanza line count. There is no rhyme scheme required; however, the poem must focus on a specific theme or subject which usually makes up part of the title. It isn't required that the subject or theme be mentioned in the poem itself.
