Nautical twilight [176] Lexi#7
Nautical twilight
The eerie midnight blue of lesser gods
dimmed to this darksome shade of indigo.
We navigate the galaxy's horizon
guided by long extinct stars. Remember
their births, Zmitri? How we tossed their orbs
to and fro until they collided! Cast out
in an explosion of embryonic
energy, it took millennia for
our scattered matter to re-coalesce.
Was it for the best, my friend? Here we are,
me, mere ember of the flame I once was;
you, ice crystals dancing to extinct songs,
warming to what you see swimming in my eyes,
a movement of onyx and ebony
on a background of otherworld coal.
