Writing Difficulties
Thursday, June 29, 2017

I have to agree with Christian Borle "It's hard to be the bard!" I have two poems started, an essay in the planning stage, and an idea for an activity. I set down at the computer or a pick up a pen and loose leaf notebook to write, then then is stare blankly at the screen or the lines on the paper. Sometimes I start with a quatrain or rhyming couplet before my mind goes blank. I did finish a story yesterday, which I started at the beginning of June. I finished it. It made sense when I reread the story, so I submitted it to the contest.

I begin one of the poems as a quatrain rhyming a,a,b,b. I've changed the name from the Gold Dragon's Plight to the Dragon Pearl, and I may change the name again if I can't get beyond the first quatrain. The other poem I don't even have a rhyming couple or even rhyming words. I'm not sure I want it to be a rhyming poem anyway. I may use the free verse or prose form for it. Maybe I just over-thinking this whole thing.
