Prisoner of Conscience: To Mahvash Sabet
Friday, June 9. 2017
"Published on June 2, 2017
This year marks the 9th anniversary of the imprisonment of the seven Baha'i 'Yaran' (the ad hoc, appointed leaders of the Iranian Baha'i community in Iran)."1
Prisoner of Conscience:
To Mahvash Sabet
A prisoner of conscience,
Mahvash Sabet
languishes
in an Iranian prison
with the five other Yaran.
Nine years
since Mahvash
and her fellow Baha'is
has breath
the air of freedom;
in that time
her children have suffered
without a mother,
her husband without his wife
beside him
to help raise their family.
Nine years in prison,
her only crime
proclaiming her faith
in Baha'u'llah
and helping to govern
the Baha'i Community in Iran.
