Transylvania Poem

World Prompt: Transylvania/Romania

Welcome to Transylvania! Guess I should
say Romania. A country everyone wanted to
own. The Turks, The Magyars, The Habsburgs
and The Romans had control for a little while.

The Romans got bored. A lot of battles were
fought. Transylvania was the nucleus of the
Kingdom of Dacia. It became under the suzerainty
of the Ottoman Empire. Way too much history here.

The Carpathian mountains, castles, gypsies, woods
and vampires. What no werewolves? Van Helsing and
Dracula? This is what I think of when I hear about
Transylvania. It was quite a country from what I read.

My ears perk up when I hear Transylvania. I am so happy
we are in this country this week. This is on my list of
places to visit. Would I be disappointed? I hope not.
It is where The Munsters Family came from after all.
