Heroes, Memorial Day
Blog City Prompt: Joy asked us to write about heroes.

I have my TV and movie fictional heroes: Batman, Guardians Of The Galaxy, Luke Skywalker, Xena, Hercules and fairy tale Princes, Captain Jack Sparrow. I sometimes, wish they were real. It would make life nice.

Real life heroes. Military men and women protecting our country, a person who helps you change a flat tire and helps you when you are lost. Doctors and nurses who took care of me after my surgeries. The Skipper of "Gilligan's Island", Alan Hale, JR. who rescued me in Arizona when I got away from my mother and he bought me back to my mother. I was four years old. He was with other movie stars in Tucson that day. Angels who rescue people. Firemen who save people in burning fires. A hero can be anybody. A kind person who saves others or is a friend. A loyal dog or cat. People who rescue animals. They are heroes. Need I say more?

BCOF Prompt: Snow asked us to write about Memorial Day and asked if we knew someone who served.

My father was in Viet Nam 3 times and came home alive. Memorial Day is about honoring those who fought to keep us safe and for those still fighting for us. We remember military heroes who died in the line of duty. It is a day to remember anyone you loved or cared about and who made a difference and died. This is what Memorial Day means to me.
