Malaysian Sonnet: "Rising Stars"

The day is near to graduate.
The Rising Stars anticipate
the writer's hope of things to come
With joy so new that we can't wait!

Fulfilling all the parts, the sum
Of course, we must now roll the drum
to start the fanfare truly well
Applauding ev'ry member chum.

Just where we'll go we cannot tell,
In hearts of others, there we'll dwell.
Our paths may twist and turn anon
'til our next thought doth ring a bell.

The days of schooling may be gone,
But friendships will live ever on.
