We live much of life amid unique choices. Joy is anchored in The One beyond our life. |
Is the task too big? I think. I write. I ask. I express. The poems come as sure as breath, but they can become forced, stale, over-used and in need of fresh life. Is the task too big? Sight. Sound. Taste. Smell. Touch. The senses must explode or the readers will fall asleep. Imagery brings readers into the experience of the mind, like a movie, like a dream alive, like hope given birth, immersed in JOY! Is the task too big? Can I write a story that has ne'er before been writ? Can prose itself bring glory? Do I have words that fit? A novel, novella, novelette, Short story, flash fiction, micro flash fiction Can I write in these genres? Is the task too big? Can I give readers respite? Can I bring peace to hearts for a moment, a day, a night, a week, a year? Is the task too big? Do I have what it takes to be memorable? Can I write something that will last beyond my life? Is it possible to be another... Tolkien, Lewis, Burns, Alcorn, or Alcott? Is the task too big? Can I reach that part of me that is truly memorable, substantive, readable? What experiences do I have that are unique, wonderful, truly me and no one else? Is the task too big? Or is the task just the right size, when I look to the Lord, Who made me as He walks with me to the core of who He made me to be? by Jay O'Toole on May 9th, 2017 |
