PROMPT:The Sunday News! What's going on in you neck of the woods? Share a link of good news coming out of the city, state, region, or part of the country, and tell us what you think about it.
Well, despite flooding in too many areas of Canada, and the usual political lampooning, I have some local fantastic news to share. Not quite a year ago, in my village of about one-thousand inhabitants, the biggest employer suddenly closed its doors to business. There was no warning. Employees lost not only their jobs, but all wages, owed and pending. There would be no severance, or vacation pay. All medical coverage ceased. Soon, this business will re-open, and re-hire former staff with new management.
Jobs are needed here. There is not a great deal of industry. Many commute distances to work. By this summer, my brother-in-law will be once again be gainfully employed. Roof trusses will be built locally. Here is the link: www.muskokaregion.com/news-story/7223910-phoenix-purchases-Kent-trusses-old-sundridge-facility-lumberyard
