Dreams of Time

Is this how artists
and poets find themes
for their immortal works of art?

Do they dream about ancient
or futuristic time pieces
marching across
a surreal landscape?

In my dreams words march
across the computer screen
of my mind
whispering stanza and line,
metaphor and simile,
rhyme and rhythm
that are forgotten
when the light of dawn
sticks my eyelids.

Does time
embraced by the cold hydrogen
of interstellar space dream?

Do the stars
dream of planets
or do planets dream
of life?
