Heroes
Dear Son,

Your work is done,
You can now rest;
We’re proud of you,
You gave your best.

Your buddies are alive
Today because of you.
Though our hearts are heavy,
You saved more than a few.

The flag on your casket
Told the story you know;
Your service mascot
Draped in stripes also.

Together in heaven,
Both running free;
We grieve for you
On bended knee.

Proud and lost are we
your heartsick, faithful,

Loving family.
