We live much of life amid unique choices. Joy is anchored in The One beyond our life. |
What do the lands of Narnia and Middle Earth reveal About the hopes and quest in us we really firmly feel? We long for victory to last with hopes no more at test, But long before the day be past the peace again is wrest. When will The King return to take His rightful Throne we ask To change the wrong to right and make the Peace His lasting task? Will we yet stroke great Aslan's mane? Will Gondor have its king? Will Good yet have its lasting reign? Will voices newly sing? As long as people chase the ring of brass that clouds the mind, we'll live on Earth where Wrong doth bring great curses so unkind. But when we see great Jadis slain, Stone Table broke in two, The ring is gone and ne'er again can Eye look down on you, Then Hope can live in human heart that sees Aslan today. Great Gondor's King begins to start to reign as we obey. For Gondor may be kingdom seen, when breath has breathed its last, There Aslan's Home is fully green, when Wrong to Hell is cast. But now the song in minor key doth long for major's end That from the home of Picardy the tones will fully mend. So, Narnia and Picardy and Middle Earth apace Are visions that we long to see amid God's Wondrous Grace. by Jay O'Toole on April 10th, 2017 |
