We live much of life amid unique choices. Joy is anchored in The One beyond our life. |
Today's the day and we have chills! We find out who has won The Quills! I hope that I will get the nod, but those we chose I will applaud! But here we finish Our Town, a weighty play I've truly found. As Mr. Webb I play the part, who loves his daughter from the heart. I cry when she must fin'lly part. The sadness will my heart surround. But when the bows receive their cheers the crying will among our peers Be full and true and heartfelt, too, with no more acting left to do. And when The Quills received applause the focus will renew our cause To write our best and leave our mark on Earth before we disembark. For life is full of working hard to make our mark and know regard, But if applause be only gain, then lack thereof could drive insane. The artist in the human heart must give expression, play the part. To thrill yourselves as use our gift the best of life will truly lift. A prize is nice and makes us glad, but Writing's great and daily had. When light is dark in praising place, then new word stands our saving grace. by Jay O'Toole on April 8th, 2017 |
