The 30 Day Blogging Challenge prompt for March 27, 2016 is "Jazz singer Sarah Vaughan , born on this day in 1924, once said, "When I sing, trouble can sit right on my shoulder and I don't even notice." What affect does writing have for you when trouble sits on your shoulder?"

W

riting is my escape. When I am troubled I know I can write and when I am wrapped up in whatever story I am writing, my troubles all go away. Sometimes I can be writing while troubled and find that a solution to whatever is bothering me just sort of comes to me when I'm lost in the plot. Writing solves many problems for me. For one thing it gives me something to occupy my time. I am disabled and unable to work. So I have a lot of time on my hands. Writing keeps me from being bored.
Writing gives me a channel for my creativity. I've always been very creative and writing has become the primary outlet for that.

The Blogging Circle of Friends prompt for March 27, 2017 is "You get ideas from daydreaming. You get ideas from being bored. You get ideas all the time. The only difference between writers and other people is we notice when we’re doing it. ~ Neil Gaiman Use this quote as inspiration to write a story, poem, or anything you want."

N

eil is right on the money with this statement. I believe everybody has an imagination and uses that imagination. Ideas float in and out of our minds easily. Writers take those ideas and turn them into incredible works of art. So I believe Neil is spot on with this assessment.

The Blog City Prompt Forum prompt for March 27, 2017 is "Do you think intentional daydreaming can help performance and achievement? And in what ways do intentional daydreaming and the mind's wandering differ from each other?"

Y

es I believe intentionally daydreaming improves performance. For one thing it allows the mind to relax a little. I am far better when I am relaxed than I am when I am nervous or apprehensive. Daydreaming is also where a lot of my ideas come from. I find that when I allow my mind to wander it comes up with some brilliant ideas.

I believe the difference in intentional daydreaming and the mind wandering is pretty self explanatory. Intentional daydreaming is daydreaming I allow myself to do. Mind wandering occurs on its own.
