My Significance is a Gift from Their Significance
Today marks the completion of the first week of the first month
without both of my parents on Planet Earth.
Now, God is truly my Father and my Mother.
God has to become my truest Leader.

Can I not lead myself?
I have been an adult for many years.

"No man is an island,
Entire of itself,
Every man is a piece of the continent,
A part of the main.
"

These are the opening lines of John Donne's meditation/poem,
"For Whom The Bell Tolls."

My parents are now gone.
I shall continue to miss them.
They have been a significant part of my life.

Without them presently in my life, I feel less.
Because they are each part of who I am, I am more.

Grief is like the fading of the flowers from the grave.
They signify the beauty which once was
and which now lives in the memory.

Today, I am less and more.
I miss you, Dad & Mom.
My significance is a gift from your significance.

Thank you.
