Oscars, Gold Mine Of Stories

Blog City Prompt: Joy asked us how we feel about the Oscars and if they influenced our lives somehow.

When "Titanic" won, I was so excited but I couldn't understand why Kate Winslet didn't win one. She can out act Helen Hunt any day of the week. What has Helen Hunt done over the years? Nothing good. Leonardo DeCaprio wasn't even nominated. He was great back then.

I haven't watched the Oscars over the years because I don't like the movies that were chosen. Guess I don't like the same movies the Oscar Nominating committee does. I will watch the movies I like and not worry about what others think deserve the Oscars.

If we have a good imagination and writers do, we can write fantasy and any story we want. We need to be influenced by other writers and movies in order to find our own talents for writing. We do and can have a gold mine inside our minds. Making a living at this, is another story but we keep writing and searching for the right stories.
