We live much of life amid unique choices. Joy is anchored in The One beyond our life. |
The LORD's in charge. I know no loss, asleep in fields so green. I drink pure water without cost, no fear to make me lean. He makes my soul renewed and strong. He guides me to be right. The way so pure gives heart new song that His Name's Glory's height. When I descend Death's cold, dark vale for self or those I love, No evil can with fear assail, for You're my nearest Dove. Your rod corrects my erring ways. Your staff's my gentle guide. They comfort me through all my days, protecting me from pride. You make my table ever fat. You make my foes observe. You oil my head 'til largest vat is stretched to purpose serve. So sure Your Goodness, Mercy, too, will shadow me through life. And in Your Home, when all is new, I'll live no more with strife. The Shepherd's psalm brings comfort sweet as earthly life I live. For when this life is full, complete, new Day of life He'll give. "2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. "3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. "4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. "5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. "6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever." (Psalm 23:1-6, KJV) |
