I was sitting here at my apartment today with only enough food for the day. I would not have enough money to buy groceries for two more days. Obviously I didn't want to go hungry for two more days and many of my medications require food for proper absorption. I also have hypoglycemia, a medical condition with conditions identical to insulin shock. If I don't eat six small meals per day to regulate my sugar, it drops dangerously low. Therefore it was necessary to come up with enough food to get me through the two days that remain. Since I had already used one of the food banks in town and they are all interconnected, I could not rely on the food banks. So I was looking at two days without food.

The miracle is that just as I finished slowly eating the last meal I could prepare my phone rang. It was the local Department of Veterans Affairs medical Center. Thinking they were calling to remind me of an appointment or something I took the call. It was a social worker there. She asked if I planned to be home the remainder of the afternoon because an anonymous donor had just randomly donated a large quantity of groceries for me!

I told her I would be home and they delivered the groceries. I literally had to make three trips carrying several over sized bags at a time to get the groceries into my apartment! I unpacked the bags and even if I do not use the income I normally use for groceries, I likely will not go hungry for two months! my cabinets have not been as full since I moved in!

Good does indeed provide for His believers. Psalm 22: 26 says "The poor will eat as much as they want; those who come to the Lord will praise Him. May they prosper forever."

We also read "The Lord will not let good people go hungry, but He will keep the wicked from getting what they want," Proverbs 10: 3.

"Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and He will give you everything you need," Luke 12: 31.

There are several other such scriptures, There are 27 more in fact but I will not list them all. The fact is that God does provide for believers in need. Does that mean I can expect to receive a limousine, personal chauffeur, and a million dollar income? Of course not! God is not a genie in a bottle that provides our every want. However He does provide our needs. Thank you Lord for your blessings!
