Are You a Writer?

Poetry has been my truest Friend, since I was 13 years old. After a bout of "lost love" Poetry became my first love as the method of expressing my heart. Poetry fits my needs by size and by style of speech. The natural ability to code my thoughts into poetry has protected me, emotionally, on more than one occasion.

However, the voice of "You will never be a real writer, until you publish your first novel!" likes to shout at me from across the room, even with all the awards I have won for my poetry. Therefore, I have my sights set on NaNoWriMo for 2017 as well as the October, 2017 prep month. This is the year in which I plan the write more prose in preparation for my novel. Short stories, novellas, novelletes, flash fiction and the like will be added to my standard fare of classic poetry.

I know I am a writer. I will silence the voice by WRITING! Thanks, Vincent! Your painting has long been my inspiration for painting. Now, it is my inspiration for writing, too.
