The clerk stood behind the counter
The customer line was very short
Today he would have a encounter
about his most favored sport.

She wanted a book about football
A subject he knew so very well
After all he played in college
Oh the stories he had to tell!

The bookstore was never this crowded
There was a new book out today
He knew all there was about it
He had set up his own display.

The customer was his own fan
She loved that star, she loved that man.
