I learned a lot when I was in college. One of the most important lessons I learned was how to study. I learned that for each hour I spent in class the recommended study time at home was three hours. I also learned the importance of a good diet. One can't study well if one is thinking of food. Abraham Maslow said that our basic human needs must come first. He was right. We don't do anything but look for or think about food when we're hungry.
Something else I learned is that if I was taking a mind altering substance when studying. prescription medication or not, I had to also take it before a test. It's called state dependent learning. If you're tired when studying for a test them wear yourself out prior to the exam. Otherwise you'll forget what you learned.
