When we can recognize the hand of God in a difficult time, then and only then are we able to submit and rejoice for its duration ... Then others see Him through us in the midst of our suffering. James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, To the twelve tribes in the Dispersion: Greetings. Consider it pure joy, my brothers, when you encounter trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance.… ~James 1:1-3 If we can remember this circumstance is something we are going "through," and we don't have to "stay" in this place... whatever it is..., His grace is sufficient to see us "through." And we will come out on the other side victorious. (See 2 Corinthians 12:9.) When we fall into a diversity of trials, this is not a time to get mad at God and forsake Him, but rather is an opportunity to press into Him ever closer... Nothing is impossible to them who believe. (See Matthew 19:26; Luke 1:37; Mark 9:23.) And when we know He is with us in whatever situation we find ourselves, then we can joyfully... …Pray without ceasing. Give thanks in every circumstance, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. Do not extinguish the Spirit.… ~1 Thessalonians 5:17-19 |
