There is a day of judgment coming... however, God the Father is delaying that time because He is long-suffering to us, not willing that any should perish. "…Beloved, do not let this one thing escape your notice: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day. The Lord is not slow to fulfill His promise as some understand slowness, but is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance. But the day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a roar, the elements will be dissolved in the fire, and the earth and its works will not be found.…" ~2 Peter 3:8-10 "…So when you, O man, pass judgment on others, yet do the same things, do you think you will escape God’s judgment? Or do you disregard the riches of His kindness, tolerance, and patience, not realizing that God’s kindness leads you to repentance? But because of your hard and unrepentant heart, you are storing up wrath against yourself for the day of wrath, when God’s righteous judgment will be revealed.…" ~Romans 2:3-5 "…To this He replied, 'Do you think that these Galileans were worse sinners than all the other Galileans, because they suffered this fate? No, I tell you. But unless you repent, you too will all perish. Or those eighteen who were killed when the tower of Siloam collapsed on them: Do you think that they were more sinful than all the others living in Jerusalem?…'" ~Luke 13:2-4 God is just. However, He has made provision for our sin through the sacrifice of His only son, Jesus, which must be appropriated through repentance and belief in Him. Jesus is the only mediator between God and man. If we refuse this precious gift and cling to our sinful ways, we will be judged accordingly. Oh, how He loves us... |
