Scraps and scribbles from 1960 - 2015 |
December 25, 2010 North Pole Dear Richard, Perhaps you are wondering why your stocking is so thin? You see, this year my elves were bustling about – (that’s my lead-in). My elves were busy traveling - they took your children to and fro To school, to special programs and to the airport they did go. They traveled every single day, but nary a worry had you They kept your children busy and safe – that’s what your elves do. They were swimming, shopping and swimming again, baking cookies every day. Ironed your shirts, swept the house, many meals and sandwiches they did make. Tucked the children into bed when a-skiing you did go Helped surprise you with a party – ‘cause you’re a great Dad and husband, you know! Made flowers and giraffes for Brady’s school and then Made lots of sticker pictures for you to be proud of them! Painted and un-painted nails and babysat for you All so you could spend a special night with their Mom – she needs you too! Dinner with family new to you went quite well you see Thanks to two elves who did the work of three! Tap dance lessons and football with Grams, the elves’ lives were very full Natalia even took a bottle from one elf, then she took one from two! Carefully tended and cared about, she spent a quiet Christmas Eve day Family fun was the plan and you worked hard they say. Although they forgot the stuff that makes a stocking look fat and full, Yours is the fullest one of all filled to the brim with loving family and friends Making Christmas fun - it’s what they do! Ho, Ho, Ho! Merry Christmas! Santa Claus |
