Where does my help come from? On this eve of the Presidential Election of 2016, many people still seem to be looking to Washington for help. One wonders if this seeking for help from Washington really like a nation of people with Halloween bags, knocking on Washington's door saying, "Tricks or Treats?" As evenly divided as the nation seems to be, it appears half of the country will wake up on Wednesday morning dancing in the streets, enjoying their newly-acquired bag of treats, while the other half will be like Charlie Brown, feeling like they got tricked yet again, saying, "I got a rock." Can any human being meet all the needs of any other human being? In all honesty I have yet to find that person. Sadly, I have never been that person. I have known many very good humans in my time. These individuals have consistently tried to do good for me and good to me. Yet, since the Garden of Eden, humans have been broken. We don't have the ability to perfectly meet needs. Yet, Someone, I know, personally, does. "1 I will lift up my eyes to the hills— From whence comes my help? "2 My help comes from the Lord, Who made heaven and earth. "3 He will not allow your foot to be moved; He who keeps you will not slumber. "4 Behold, He who keeps Israel Shall neither slumber nor sleep. "5 The Lord is your keeper; The Lord is your shade at your right hand. "6 The sun shall not strike you by day, Nor the moon by night. "7 The Lord shall preserve you from all evil; He shall preserve your soul. "8 The Lord shall preserve your going out and your coming in From this time forth, and even forevermore."
