A Goal
"There is no thrill in easy sailing,
When the skies are clear and blue,
There is no joy in merely doing,
Things that anyone can do.
But there is some satisfaction,
That is might sweet to take,
When you reach a destination,
You thought you'd never make."
~Excerpt from a poem by Edgar A. Guest
Mom quoted this first stanza to me and to her granddaughters several times. It was inspiration for many, many tough times. She had this poem titled "A Goal Caps.", but I do not know why she titled it this way. The two stanzas that follow seem somewhat random and unrelated.
