Jane Austen, Socioeconomic, Switching Bodies
Blog City Prompt: Jane Austen was one of the first authors to examine the effects of socioeconomic pressure on personal relationships. Do you think the same socioeconomic pressure may still mess up personal relationships in our day?

You know how I love Jane Austen and I am her most loyal fan and I read and research her a lot. Yes, socioeconomics still apply. The rich marry for money, power and legacy and it is all about the money. It is really sad. It should always be about love. It seems like it is a rich man's world. This is true in politics but I won't go there. I admit I love reading all Jane's novels and we all love Darcy. Jane wanted her characters to marry for love and this is how she wrote them. Darcy learned that love was more important then money. Too bad it still isn't that way. I am guilty of watching "Downton Abbey" and I love reading Regency romances about people with titles but I love when romance wins in the end. Socioeconomic pressure will always be around but will I just write, read books, color and shop. I have my own Mr. Darcy and we are happy.

BCOF Prompt: Once a year, you switch bodies with a random person who is best in the world at a certain skill. The wrinkle in this scenario is you can't change back until you discover what the skill is. You've been this random person now for a month, are you worried, yet? What's your game plan?

Maybe this person has Xena's warrior Princess skills. I would be okay with this. Maybe she flies like Super Girl. If I am this person for awhile, I could learn a lot. Why worry? If I am this person, I would be great at her or his skill and can take on the world if only for a few hours. I hope I can do good things. I would hate to waste a talent on being bad. Who wants that? Once I discover this special skill my new body has, I change back to me. No problem. I can do it.
