Prompt 3- Inner Peace- Poetry
Whirled Peace
I’ve grown stark raving mad
chained to this demanding desk,
disguised as your general clerk,
pushing papers, fingers frosted in filth,
suffocating in all your dirty work.
You steal my recognition and fame
with your signature replacing my name,
and I’m blazing underneath my collar,
always losing this unscrupulous game.
Every time you say you’re entitled,
I press fast forward inside my head
when I wish to pound with fists instead.
I worry not about what I left behind
and finally found peace the day I resigned.
