The Quiet Game



I secretly took an oath, but did not realize
when your body was hovering
all the feelings that my heart was discovering,
a hunger for you and some would say
it could leave you cursed,
but your sweet lips seem to be a key unlocking
all the things hidden inside of me.

Three small words blurted too fast and worse,
for you this was a harmless fling,
not something that would last,
so your response left me flushed,
for I had secretly taken an oath
not to say it first.
