The best me I can be
Prompt : Fun Fact Friday! On this day in 1926, legendary baseball player Babe Ruth caught a baseball At Mitchell Field in New York . The ball had been dropped from an airplane flying at 250 feet . Have you ever done anything extraordinary that no one else you know has done? Or, do you have any kind of weird /unique talent that your friends can't do?
Alas, I cannot leap tall buildings in a single bound. At the moment, and pretty well at any other time , I cannot muster a leap, or even a hop, or a skip over anything. My strength is not of the super sort either . Some would describe me as packaging impaired. Why does so much have to be shielded by indestructible plastic? It is impervious to my teeth, nails, and muscles. Is it possible to strain enough to cause a hernia? Lids are my kryptonite. The moment I so much as touch one it might as well be welded shut. My hands turn to useless jelly.
No x-ray vision for me, my eyes cringe and squint at the first stabbing rays of sunshine. My senses fail to tingle and warn me of impending obstacles. My first indication seems to be when one of my toes stubs a solid substance, and signals a screaming halt to my brain.
Sigh, I am me, or as Dr. SEUSS says, " I am the best me I can be."
