It was 1956, and I had just finished school, and I threw my satchel in the bin. It wasn't a real satchel, not a nice leather one, an army stores haversack you know the kind the soldiers had during the war, and it did the job.
It was the month of June and I couldn't get full tie employment until my birthday in August. The year before my friend Nicki and I went strawberry picking and decided to go this year , and we boarded the bus with all the other kids. It was a great atmosphere we all sang songs all the way to the farm.
