Japanese Knives

no one makes knives better
than the Japanese
each perfectly balanced
for a specific task

like the nine-inch Yo-Deba,
hidden in the knife kit in your closet
bulky, top-heavy, bone-cutter
to split joints, chop off heads

grotesque, when you dissect
our give-and-take
to find my deformities
severing the reason behind them
