Birds flock together

I saw as it were a flock of birds
Flying south for the winter
They were mallards I do believe
They say usuallybirds flock together
These were unusual they were lovely
Black with green around their necks and head
Such a lovely sight to see.
If I could I’d capture one and pet it on its beak
I love those silly little ducks or birds or what have you
I don’t see how hunters could shoot them
Or farmers, kill them for food.
I think they are graceful and shining examples of
A creation from above.
