I sip hot coffee and write
My muse warming up

when everything looks dark:

I have a new pair
of warm brown and white knitted gloves
for my aching hands.

with snow on Mount Charleston:
winter's arrival.

Christmas is coming
with all the Christmas carols:
Childhood memories return.

Where has 2015 gone?
It seems like just yesterday
we were celebrating a New Year
with fireworks and good cheer.

Chilly Christmas Eve
in the Las Vegas valley
to have a white Christmas
we have to drive up the mountains
to Mount Charleston.

meditation and coffee
begins the workweek.

another cup of coffee
hotcakes for breakfast.
