Day 8 Prompt: "The boundaries which divide Life from Death are at best shadowy and vague who shall say where the one ends and the other begins?" Edgar Allan Poe

Use this quote for a short story or poem.

On a rainy Halloween night, a black cat runs
in the cemetery. Is he the soul of someone
who has just died? Happy is the black cat and
lays beside a cemetery stone. Is this his home?

A woman brings red roses to a grave. She misses
her mother ands father but knows they had a good
life. A pumpkin is on a grave. Must be someone who
liked Halloween. A wind blows and the pumpkin moves.

The black cat sits on the pumpkin. The woman notices
the cat and he winks at her. The woman grasps. He reminds
her of her father and she goes over to pet him and the black
cat purrs. The woman asks about her mother as she pets the cat.

The town clock chimes and the black cat disappears.
The woman walks toward home but is glad for the brief
encounter with the cat. She has a peaceful feeling and
she has found some comfort. Now, she is ready to move on.
