Day 64: Grisylde takes Sarah in

“When I stumbled across her place, I had been running through the woods. I don’t know where I was going. I was just trying to get away from the village. I had had as much as I could take. I decided I would live off the land or starve. I had been abused in nearly every way I could think of someone being abused. It was no way to live. When Grisylde first saw me, I must have looked a fright. Her eyes grew wide. My clothes were torn, and I was scraped and bruised. Some of it was from the villagers, but some of it was simply from my flight through the woods.

“Grisylde simply said, ‘You poor dear. You come right in, and I’ll get you something to eat.’
