Theses are my thoughts and ramblings as I forge my way through this thing they call life. |
Today's blog... 30 Day Blogging Challenge - Day 3 Aug 3rd at Yellowstone Itβs our first night together, we are going to cook over an open fire pit. What are good food options for this group activity? Who's cooking? Clean up is important, what should we do to maintain our group safety? Who's got clean up? It's 50 degrees this evening and overnight our low is 41... nippy skippy for August. We have a practical joker among us....what happens? I am so glad I found you all. I feel like that Alice in Wonderland rabbit trying to catch up, but now that I found you I can relax.... I hope. I am not even sure who is here yet... it's so dark. There are some familiar faces in the camp fire light; but there are new ones as well. A good mix of ages too by the look of things. Seasoned to tenderfoot and in between. It is so good to be back with you. I loved last year in Maine. Yellowstone Park is a lot farther but it is in an awesome part of your country. I brought stuff to make s'mores and lots of marshmallows. I know that is not overly healthy but they are so good. I am better at clean up than cooking, but I am willing to pull my weight in anything that needs doing, just ask. I brought my conversion chart for the temperature and a formula just in case I lose it - the formula is: F = (C x 2) + 30; so 50F = (10C x 2) + 30.... it's only 10 degrees! Holy Crap! I left 30 degrees... oh, well. I will most certainly bundle up. Layering will have to do. Here's my conversion link... if anyone is interested. http://fahrenheittocelsius.com/ To maintain group safety - sing and make a lot of noise - to keep the bears away. Have plenty of bear spray and be prepared to use it. Don't go anywhere alone and if you are going to use the facilities, tell someone so that they will watch out for you. As for the practical joker... who might that be. Brother Nature ? We have a few teenagers along, but I think they are a good group - they'll add to the fun. We'll have to keep an eye out... oh, that reminds me, I hope I brought a lot of allergy medication along, though we'll see. This area may be okay for me. Maybe my sneezing will keep the bears away. |
